Our COVID-19 Policy

In March 2019 we opened our doors to provide an inclusive and welcoming community meeting place, where delicious locally sourced food, indie craft brews and bespoke spirits are shared with family, friends and colleagues in a safe and friendly space. From day one our commitment to the wellbeing of our customers and staff has been our priority.

We believe our community role remains an important one, and in compliance with the best evidence-based guidelines from federal and state public health agencies, and with your well-being in mind, we continue to serve you with the same care and attention we always have.

We maintain social distancing measures across our venue – this includes the spacing and layout of tables, as well as the number of patrons in any single area. We require that all staff and patrons wear face masks; patrons upon entry and exit; at all times unless seated. We also require that everyone entering our venue complete the COVID-19 Check In.

We have also implemented a range of sanitation features all designed to feel simple and safe, with minimal impact on your experience. We have provided special training to all staff to enable the above procedures and to also request patrons that don’t follow these sensible guidelines leave our premises until they are able to comply.

Upon careful consideration, and following consultation with our industry body, AHASA and our staff, we have implemented a Double Vaccination mandate for all staff and patrons effective Wednesday 8 December. This means that we do require proof of Double Vaccination upon entry.

 

Conditions of entry to Sparkke at The Whitmore

We have developed a list of “Conditions of Entry", which have been implemented in the interests of keeping guests, staff and our broader community safe.

  1. 1. All guests are asked to wear masks that cover their nose and mouth at all times while in the venue, unless seated; this includes when ordering at the bar. If you have a mask exemption, please see our duty manager immediately upon entry and provide proof.
  2. 2. We ask that all guests be physically well; we will ask anyone who shows overt signs of illness to come back when they are recovered.
  3. 3. We require that all guests be fully vaccinated, and arrive with vaccination certificates for presentation upon request.
  4. 4. Remembering the importance of social distancing we ask guests to adhere to social distancing of 1.5m including at entry and exit points.

We are open Wednesday - Sunday from 11am-late. Bookings advisable.

 

Need To Know

Table Service. Our service model has changed to table service. When arriving at the Whitmore, please wait to be seated and one of our fab front of house team members will take you to your seat.

We operate in compliance with C19 SA Government guidelines with regards to capacity at all times; these vary. We’re aiming for the best possible guest experience with your health and safety of our staff and community as our number one priority.

Bookings are advisable. Your table will be reserved for 2 hours for parties of up to two people; 2 hours 30 minutes for parties of up to four people; and 3 hours for parties of five or more people.

Deposits. While we do not charge deposits for bookings of under 10 pax, we have a cancellation fee of $25 per person if cancelled less than 48 hours from booking time. This is due to the venue capacity restriction on numbers allowed per sitting.

Maximum 10 Person Casual Booking. In compliance with C19 SA Government guidelines all casual bookings must be 10 people or under.

Private Function. Have a private function of up to 100 people? We have a wonderful rooftop bar and a fire-grill that can be closed off for your private function. For all enquiries email functions@sparkke.com or call us on (08) 7123 0808 and we'll make magic happen.

Minimum Spend. While we operate with limited capacity, we will be recommending a minimum spend for group bookings. This will be dependent on time of booking, our events and functions manager will coordinate this with you. Rest assured the Spirit of Sparkke is thriving and we’ll work to accommodate your needs and budget.

 

Ramping Up Our Bottleshop

Feeling more like staying in than going out? We’re ramping up our inhouse bottle shop to allow you to swing by and collect any of your Sparkke at the Whitmore favourite brews in a package. Or maybe you’re looking for a bottle of one of our award winning Full Circle spirits? No? Then that favourite wine drop you love stocked in our tight, intelligent collection. In any case, we’re open and ready to serve you as you race past.

 

What else is Sparkke at the Whitmore doing

We are proceeding according to best practice advice from the Australian and South Australian governments - as well as state and national health services, and our industry body the AHASA.

We’ve implemented social distancing guidelines at our tables across our venue.

All of our own staff are double vaccinated.

We’re ensuring that venue numbers do not go above what the Government has currently stipulated; this can reduce instantly if guidelines change.

We disinfect every smooth surface, including door handles, banisters, tables, shelving etc every hour, and of course as always, we wipe every table after every customer finishes a meal or a drink.

We disinfect the keypad after transactions where you’re required to enter your pin.

We have set up hand sanitising units across the pub – so you can sanitise your hands as you arrive and depart too (of course in the loo too!)

We’ve removed cutlery caddies from the casual dining areas in the pub and returned to providing serviette wrapped cutlery.

As always, all of our glassware, cutlery, and tableware are cleaned with high-grade commercial cleaners that sterilise as part of the cleaning process.

Our staff have been trained to adhere to our guidelines and to focus on your well-being, as well as their own.

Our staff are enabled to request patrons that don’t follow our guidelines to leave our premises.

 

What Can You Do?

These are just a few small things that we can do to signal to you that we’re here, and we’re confident that we’re getting through COVID-19 together.

That does bring us, rightly, back to you.

We see this as a partnership. And we need you to do your bit. We really can’t do it without you.

If you’re visiting us at the pub, follow all guidelines listed above; they are conditions of entry. We have designed the space to enable social distancing and sanitation practices, keeping our venue virus-free! Initiatives meant to protect your well-being. That said, if you aren’t well, please wait and return at a time when we can welcome you back fully recovered.
