We've Done This Before, We Will Do It Again

In March 2019 we opened our doors to provide an inclusive and welcoming community meeting place, where delicious locally sourced food and indie craft brews are shared with family, friends and colleagues in a safe and friendly space. From day one our commitment to the wellbeing of our customers and staff has been our priority.

 

We believe our community role remains an important one, and as long as the best evidence-based guidelines from federal and state public health agencies advise us that we are able to do so, and with your well-being in mind, we will remain open and continue to serve you with the same care and attention we always have.

 

We have implemented social distancing measures across our venue – this includes the spacing and layout of tables, as well as the number of patrons in any single area. We have also implemented a range of sanitation features all designed to feel simplistic, safe and not hindering to your dining experience. We have provided special training to all staff to enable the above procedures and to also request patrons that don’t follow these sensible guidelines to leave our premises until they are well.

Opening Hours

We are open Wednesday- Sunday from 11am-late. Bookings essential.


Need To Know

  • Table Service. Our service model has changed to table service. When arriving at the Whitmore, please wait to be seated and one of our fab front of house team members will take you to your seat.

    • 4Sqm In compliance with C19 SA Government guidelines, we can only facilitate 1 person every 4 square metres. We’re aiming for the best possible dining experience and your health and safety of our staff and community are our utmost priority.

    • Bookings are essential. Your table will be booked for a maximum of 2 hours to facilitate complete sanitation of the area before the next sitting.
    •  
    • Deposits. While we do not charge deposits for bookings of under 10 pax, we have a cancellation fee of $25 per person if cancelled less than 48 hours from booking time. This is due to the restriction on people allowed per sitting, we hope you can understand!

  • Maximum 10 Person Casual Booking. In compliance with C19 SA Government guidelines all casual bookings must be 10 people or under


Private Function. Have a private function of up to 50 people? We have a wonderful rooftop bar and a fire-grill that can be maximised and closed off for your private function. For all enquiries email functions@sparkke.com or call us on (08) 7123 0808 and we'll make magic happen.

  • Minimum Spend. While we are limited with people in the Whitmore, we will be recommending a minimum spend for group bookings. This will be dependent on time of booking, our wonderful events and functions manager will coordinate. Given the current restrictions in place, we’re doing all we can do to ensure an excellent and enjoyable experience at the Whitmore, however we need to consider the wellbeing of our staff, people and inner community. We hope you understand, we’re just doing the best we can to keep the Spirit of Sparkke thriving through these uncertain times.

Supporting Our Community

Beyond this, we’re looking at ways of positively contributing to social cohesion across our community. We are committed to feeding members of Whitmore Square, with our kitchen preparing meals every Thursday night with St Johns. We’re looking out for the most vulnerable within our community, especially leading up to the Festive season.


Ramping Up Our Bottleshop

Feeling more like staying in than going out? We’re ramping up our inhouse bottle shop to allow you to swing by and collect any of your Sparkke at the Whitmore favourite brews in a package; 375 ml cans or 1.9 L growlers pulled straight off of the tap. Or maybe you’re looking for a bottle of one of our special gin collaborations with Australia’s top distillers. No? Then that favourite wine drop you love stocked in our tight, intelligent collection. In any case, we’re open and ready to serve you as you race past.

SPARKKE HAND SANITISER & HAND TREATMENT

Kills 99.9% of Bacteria! All natural and vegan!

Using the recipe accredited by the World Health Organisation’s (WHO), our Hand Sanitiser is science-based, all natural, fragrant and kills 99.9% of germs. Extracting oils from lemon-scented eucalyptus (picked from a farm in the Adelaide Hills), oregano leaves and hops, our Hand Sanitiser’s fragrance smells like the Australian bush, with the added benefit of anti-microbial protection.

 

Our Hand Treatment is a rich mousse-like cream which rehydrates and protects the skin after a day of handwashing and hand sanitisation. It's made up of 12 oils, including Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and Oil from rose petals, collected from a family garden in the Adelaide Hills. We've added Hop oil too, which is a cool connection to our craft as brewers.

 

We've put it into a 60mL perfume bottle with an atomiser; take it with you, it's the perfect size for your handbag, backpack and car.


What Sparkke at the Whitmore are Doing

We are proceeding according to best practice advice from the Australian and South Australian governments - as well as state and national health services.

 

We’ve implemented social distancing guidelines at our tables across our venue.

 

We check all staff temperatures at the beginning of each shift (with their permission of course!)

 

We’re ensuring that venue numbers do not go above what the Government has stipulated; this can reduce instantly if guidelines change.

 

We disinfect every smooth surface, including door handles, banisters, tables, shelving etc every hour, and of course as always, we wipe every table after every customer finishes a meal or a drink. This is all done with single-use towelling.

 

We disinfect the keypad after transactions where you’re required to enter your pin.

 

We have set up hand sanitising units across the pub – so you can sanitise your hands as you arrive and depart too (of course in the loo too!)

 

We’ve removed cutlery caddies from the casual dining areas in the pub and returned to providing serviette wrapped cutlery.

 

As always, all of our glassware, cutlery, and tableware are cleaned with high-grade commercial cleaners that sterilise as part of the cleaning process.

 

Every single staff member has been fully trained to adhere to our guidelines and to focus on your well-being, as well as their own.

 

We have provided special training to staff to enable them to request patrons that don’t follow our guidelines to leave our premises until they are well.

These are just a few small things that we can do to signal to you that we’re here, and we’re confident that we’ll get through COVID-19 together.

 

That does bring us, rightly, back to you.
